Overall very good collection of rare interesting real photo postcards.
Attractive collection of Guatemala real photo postcards, from the first half of the 20th century. Likely collected by an American tourist or resident of Guatemala, the collection includes five postcards by noted local photographer Roberto Eichenberger. Swiss by origin, he was born in Guatemala, studied in Berlin and was active at the Guatemala photography market in the 1930s-1950s. Another postcard bears an ink stamp of the souvenir shop in Chichicastenango, owned by Max Lopez – and shows the town’s market with the shop’s storefront in the background. Overall the postcards depict the streets, sites and people in Chichicastenango, Solola, Totonicapan, Santiago Atitlan, San Antonio Palopo, and La Antigua. A very nice collection of well-preserved rare real photo postcards of Guatemala.
